Why Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing gentle awareness to the present moment. Through practice we begin to notice our thoughts, emotions and body sensations more clearly. We also start to see our habitual patterns - both helpful and unhelpful - that shape our reactions to life.

Mindfulness does not require clearing the mind or feeling calm - we simply learn to notice whatever is present with friendly curiosity. As awareness grows, so does our capacity to respond with greater steadiness, kindness and choice.

What is the MBSR course?

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is an internationally recognised course developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It combines traditional mindfulness practices with modern neuroscience and mind-body medicine.

Through guided practices, reflection and simple exercises, participants learn practical ways to work with stress and overwhelm, difficult emotions and thoughts, physical discomfort, and the pressures of everyday life.
